The Importance of Reading Transport News

There are many people involved in the transport industry, and there are many ways that you can become involved. There are plenty of transport jobs, from frozen foods, to medical equipment, and even electronics. Whichever part of the industry you are in, you are still a huge part of it, and with that being the case, it is important for you to read transport news. What can transport news tell you? How can you benefit from it?

Travel Regulations — There are laws supporting everything — even the transport industry. While you might not pay attention to the local or federal government, a good transport publication will, and this will keep you up to date. Remember, the last thing you want is to be stopped on the way to your destination because you have broken some sort of law.

Vehicles — If you are in charge of your own vehicle, it would be nice to have updated information on the various vehicle upgrades and even replacements. If you can save on gas mileage or perhaps add more storage space, you would certainly want to know about it.

Routes — In the transport industry, you are not exactly taking a family vacation. There are specific routes that most people like to take, and as a result, the trip becomes pretty routine. A transport publication will discuss those routes and even talk about new ones.

Destinations — The ultimate destination is your pickup or delivery, but along the way you will undoubtedly need to visit diners, hotels, and even rest areas. A good travel publication will certainly be able to help you with that, and keep you current on the available accommodations.

Unlike any other magazines you might subscribe to, it is important to ensure that your travel magazines are actually accurate. if they are no, you face a rather serious problem. For example, inaccurate information could have an effect on the quality of your trip. Before you rely on any sort of travel publication, you should check its authenticity, and verify that others have had a decent experience. This might seem like a lot of work, but you can trust us when we say it is absolutely worth it.

Another very important aspect of any travel publication is their ability to prioritize information. For example, posting information about a great eating establishment ahead of information about a road closure might be a lack of priority. This could lead to problems, especially if you fail to turn that ‘one page’ during your first skimming of the magazine.

What formats is the travel publication in? Can you buy it in print? Does it come as a digital publication? Both? The format is up to you, but make sure you choose one that actually suits your needs.

Choosing a good travel publication is a must if you plan to have an effective trip. It is an added yearly expense, of course, but a good publication can tell you things that the internet never will. You will be dealing with individuals that spend their time on the road, and have dedicated their time to ensuring all available facts are known. You really cannot do much better than that, can you?

Check out the different available publications and try to create a flow of information. When you are on the road, nothing can be more important. Remember, information is power!

Using The Hook Of A Press Release To Get Free Web Traffic From News Sites

Have you ever written a press release in order to get traffic to your website? No, why not? If you’re like many beginners you are just not sure how or what to do about creating your first news release. This is understandable. The good news is that there really is not a lot to it.

What Is it about Press release that make then so useful?

The Press. You are releasing content to actual news agencies and media websites. This is not your normal syndication channel or article directory kind of traffic. In fact, a well written release can easily hit thousands of high value news and media sites.

The media has greater expectations.

Don’t think that writing a simply one page article will do it for a press release. When writing these news releases you must give them a little bit extra. This is known as the “Hook”. The hook is basically your spin on the story that makes it newsworthy.

Let’s say you have a story you wish to release of a hilarious movie you made entitled “Funny Dog Driving Car”. You know people will enjoy the story, but a news agency needs that little something extra in order to really captivate the reader. You might change this to “Fido Eludes Capture As The Driver In A High Speed Car Chase”. The second title entices the reader to want to know more about what happened.

The “hook” is powerful.

The hook is a psychological method to capture the reader’s attention. The greater the attention grabber the more likely a news agency will be to publish the release to a wider syndication. The hook is important to the news agency because they need stuff to be “news-worthy” without having to make it that way themselves. The story (news hook) should be good enough to catch the journalists’ attention, and from there on your content will determine how successful your press release is in attracting new business.

If they loved the content you are releasing that would help your cause. But they have to want to see the content first before they can visit your website to access the material you are promoting during the release.

Since a press release goes out across the “news-wire”, your single release could easily get picked up by other large-scale news organizations and media sites around the world. This all could flood your pages with free web traffic on a grand scale.

Why is Namibia Never in the News?

Read the following:

Food Crisis in Niger, AIDS in Uganda, Somali Journalists Are Assaulted and Jailed, Shaky Rule in Madagascar Threatens Tress.

These are the top New York Times news headlines for Africa.

Pretty depressing huh?

Did you notice that none of them are about Namibia? So why is Namibia never in the news?

Here are just a few of the more obvious reasons:

– In many respects, colonialism was a huge benefit to modern Namibia. Colonialism built many of the SCHOOLS children are taught in today.

– Colonialism built many of the ROADS, paved and gravel, both of which are in excellent condition and regularly maintained to the point the Fishing Industry’s main port at Walvis Bay links with the Trans-Caprivian Highway connecting with Central Africa and its many countries (Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, to name just a few).

– The WATER is potable, thus can be drunk in over 90% of the country, a huge benefit in maintaining a healthy population.

– ELECTRICITY is prevalent and powered by Namibia’s own power plants.

– Crime is LOW.

– Located between two of the world’s oldest deserts makes the arid environment a perfect ingredient to MINIMIZE diseases such as cholera, typhoid, malaria, and yellow fever – Again helping maintain a healthy population.

– Namibia is the first country in the world to incorporate the PROTECTION of the ENVIRONMENT into the constitution, thus eliminating future issues in that topic and making it a place home to more animals than people!

– Since its Independence in 1990, the country has remained stable, GROWN productive, and peacefully elects heads of state every five years.

– The government HAS A GOAL properly named “Vision 2030” in which it aims to have Namibia’s Industrial sector competing with the 1st world, its population increased to 3 million, and its population educated and skilled in the work force.

So I ask again, why is Namibia never in the news?

An old wise man once said “plan for the future by first building a solid foundation.”

To building that solid foundation.

Technology Leading Us to Inhumanity?

Many of you may get astonished looking at the headline of this article. You may think that this writer has gone crazy or something. Technology which has made our life better than we ever thought of and now this writer is saying that technology is making us inhuman. I will say, yes it is.

A few days ago I saw a report on TV. The reporter was reporting about the sufferings of some poor people who could not even eat two meals a day. But the reporter did not help them on spot. Just make a report to telecast. That means sufferings of people are being used as products to get famous or to earn livelihood. Another incident was, a few days ago in a convocation ceremony of a University one of the guests got fainted on the spot. There were about 300 students but none of them rushed to help the guest. Rather they took picture of him and send the news to their friends and relatives, twitted on twitter and shared on Facebook and other social networking sites. They did not even think of helping the person rather they just took the opportunity to make it breaking news.

Now we have the technology to broadcast anything live from the spot. Anyone can be a reporter using his/her mobile cameras while they are moving in the streets and some accidents happen. We can’t control what should be broadcasted and what should not be. But we should think before we do anything.

I remember a classic movie named “Roman Holiday” in which a princess came to Italy to travel. But as she was a princess she could not move around freely. So his parents used to control her and gave her sleeping pills at night. One night she came out without her parents’ permission to travel but felt asleep on the streets as an effect of the sleeping pills. A journalist found her and took her to his house. Next day a report came on a missing girl. But it was not mentioned that she was a princess. Seeing the report the journalist understood that she is the one whom he took home last night. He could have spread the news in public that he had found the princess and gain money and popularity. But he did not do so to save the honor of the princess and her family.

In schools and colleges students are having sexual intimacy and making video of them and spreading them in the internet. Some people are blackmailing their girlfriends and their family. Our culture and social values are being destroyed.

We can’t stay without technology but we should make ourselves mature enough to adopt with the advancement of technology. We should film ten videos with cultural and educative values if we film one pornograph.

How Social Media in Destination Marketing Works

Does your CVB or tourism bureau use social media in its destination marketing plan? If not, what are you waiting for?

According to a recent study, 81 percent of all marketers surveyed said their social media efforts have generated exposure to their business, and 61 percent of marketers saw an increase in Web traffic. If your destination isn’t keeping up with trends in social media, your CVB or tourism bureau is losing money. Here are a few ways to market your travel agency using social media.

1. Search for groups and individuals’ interests on social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace to find out what people are saying about your destination.

2. Publish your blog articles on Digg, Delicious, Reddit and other social bookmarking sites to generate a wider viewing audience.

3. Constantly update your travel blog with new information, paying attention to Google Keywords to improve your search engine results rankings.

4. Extend friendships to tourists (former and future) to maintain relationships and keep them coming back.

5. Use photo sharing sites to link pictures taken by tourists to create a community among people who are interested in your destination.

6. Twitter travel deals and packages, as well as updates on area construction, new businesses, events and festivals.

7. Offer contests and promotions through social media outlets to help increase your followers.

8. Create customized URLs to Facebook and Twitter to provide another contact option for tourists. (e.g. facebook.com/yourcvbhere)

9. Create a network or online community among all businesses in your area to provide more information to your future tourists, as well as generate more traffic back to your profiles

10. Post videos on a YouTube account of different activities to participate in at your destination.

Having an active presence in many social media platforms will not only generate more exposure to your CVB or tourism bureau, but it will also redirect people back to your Web site.

Cosmos Vs Globus

Visiting Europe is more affordable than you might think. The Globus family of brands has two options to choose from. Cosmos offers a great vacation value for those on a budget, while Globus offers premium escorted travel.

In order to understand the difference more clearly, I am going to use an example I came across earlier this week where a client was planning a trip to Spain, but was undecided between the Cosmos “Grand tour of Spain,” and the Globus “Spanish Fiesta.” Specifically, the client wanted to know why she should pay $500 more for the Globus trip, when the Cosmos goes to the same places and is one day longer?

This is one of the best questions you can ask your travel agent! The tourist industry is a very competitive field and if one company is offering the same itinerary at a decidedly different price, there’s got to be a reason. As we sat and discussed the two itineraries, here is what the client learned.

She would land in Madrid on either tour; both would have meet and greet, (if airfare had been purchased through the tour operator), and each would have a hotel room reserved in her name. Now where the difference begin, is that the Globus tour director would host a welcome dinner that evening and she would meet the other travelers. The Cosmos tour director would only be in the hotel lobby to say hello. Dinner will be on her own, and perhaps she would meet up with other travelers and join them.

After a buffet breakfast (included each morning in either tour) the Globus group will have in depth sightseeing in Madrid, seeing all the major sights, with entrance to the world famous Prado Museum included and paid for. The afternoon will offer free time. The Cosmos group leaves Madrid, and is driven to Valencia (via Aranjuez and Cuenca), a distance of about 222 miles, with a stop at the Royal Palace along the way. The driving time is about 4 hours, but there will be photo stops as well as a stop for lunch, although not included. The Cosmos tour would then stay in Valencia two nights, which no included sightseeing.

On day two, the Globus tour will head north to Vitoria, stopping at Segovia and Burgos…with photo, rest and lunch stops, of course. Lunch is not included with the Globus on this day either. The distance is about 175 miles, or about 3 hours.

I won’t continue the day-by-day comparison, as the article would be quite lengthy, but be assured that these differences continue throughout. Example: Globus has in-depth sightseeing in Granada, Cosmos offers it as an optional. The Globus tour takes you to Gibraltar, with entrance fee included; Cosmos does not go to Gibraltar. Globus stops for guided, fee paid sightseeing in Toledo; Cosmos does not stop at Toledo. The Cosmos visit in Madrid is at the end of your tour, no inside visits are included.

There are also more subtle differences that a Globus tour includes over Cosmos, such as extra nights in major cities to allow for more free time, a few extra meals throughout the trip, perhaps with wine included or entertainment. With Globus you often each at local restaurants, where we Cosmos you frequent the hotel’s restaurant.

To sum it all up, if your goal is to travel comfortably, with clean hotels, some meals, a tour guide as your shepherd and information source and at a price you can afford, go “budget,” which is with Cosmos tours. Just remember, there will be many “optional” tours and meals, so do the math. If you want to see as much as possible, gain access to outstanding museums and sights, stay in centrally located hotels and avoid many of the optionals, so more is included in your up-front price, you will find that Globus tours is the better way to go.

Keep in mind they are both owned by the same company, who have offered escorted tours for over 80 years, so you will not be disappointed either way, as long as you are clear on what’s included in the price.

3 Ways to Turn Around Falling Website Traffic

Ways to Turn Around Falling Website Traffic

If we think rationally, every website has some or the other kind of fluctuations in their traffic. Are you aware of the normal range for your own website? What is your first reaction when you get to know about a significant drop in traffic on your website? Most of the people try to undo the last change they made to the website. Honestly speaking, it’s a wrong approach to go about things because there are innumerable reasons as to why your traffic might have dropped.

Before anything else, it’s important to keep in mind that the drop in traffic isn’t just a problem with your date ranges. Looking at today’s date, we find that not all of the traffic has come in till now. It might also happen that you or your webmaster tool must have accidentally deleted your tracking code, it will appear like no traffic has arrived till now, even though nothing might have changed. In your next step, check with IT for all the technical issues.

Ultimately, check the news. Is there a significant power outage, an occasion, or some other news thing that may justify a drop? If you’ve affirmed that this is, for sure, a drop in traffic that isn’t brought about by external or technical issues, at that point proceed onwards to boost your falling site traffic with these means.

1) Check for Penalties

In the event that you get a manual punishment from Google, you’ll be considered to be dropped in traffic as either the influenced page or your general rankings fall. Most drops in traffic aren’t clarified by a manual penalty from Google, yet it’s straightforward and conclusive to affirm whether you have one. Check for notices on Google Search Console.

In the event that you do have notifications, it’s most likely for strategies or content that appears malicious or copied. In case you’re working with an SEO firm, you need to converse with them regarding why they would utilize strategies that are punished by Google-and locate another firm. You’ll likewise have to address the misstep to eliminate the penalty and recapture your traffic.

2) Compare Traffic Channels

It very well may be useful to figure out which sort of traffic is falling on your site. In the event that it’s paid traffic, consider whether you’ve quite recently quit putting money into an advertisement. That can justify the actual drop.

You may likewise need to look at branded versus unbranded traffic. Branded traffic is site traffic from individuals who are straightforwardly visiting your site, not being alluded by a link or connection. They might be looking for your organization’s name straightforwardly on Google, so you realize that they definitely know your business. On the off chance that you see a drop in branded traffic, it very well may be a PR issue. Maybe less individuals feel the need to interface with your brand.

3) Pause Your Ads

Another chance is that paid search results page traffic is cutting into your organic traffic. Somewhat, this is normal. While putting resources into paid traffic may decrease your organic traffic it should boost your general traffic.

Incidentally however, your paid traffic just cuts into your organic traffic. It’s conceivable that you have a particularly solid presence on the paid keyword, then there’s no advantage of purchasing advertisements there. The best way to know whether your paid advertisement is liable for your traffic drop is to pause the advertisement and check whether your traffic resumes at the past or anticipated levels.

Conclusion

At the point when your site traffic is down, it’s important to turn around to the core ways you build up an audience – by offering your visitors important content and zooming in on incredible user experience. At the point when you do, your site will receive the benefits in traffic over a period of time.

Villa Borghese Park (Rome) (Part 1)

The villa and its park were designed in 1605 for Cardinal Scipione Borghese, nephew of Pope Paul V. The park was the first of its kind in Rome. It contained 400 newly-planted pine trees, garden sculpture by Bernini’s father, Pietro, and dramatic waterworks built by Giovanni Fontana.

The layout of the formal gardens was imitated by other prominent Roman families at Villa Ludovisi and Villa Doria Pamphilj. In the early 19th century Prince Camillo Borghese assembled the family’s magnificent art collection in the Casino Borghese, now the home of the Galleria and Museo Borghese.

In 1901 the park became the property of the Italian state. Within its 6-km (4-mile) circumference there are now museums and galleries, foreign academies and schools of archaeology, a zoo, a riding school, a grassy amphitheatre, an artificial lake, an aviary and an array of summer-houses, fountains, Neo-Classical statuary and exotic follies.

There are several ways into the park, including a monumental entrance on Piazzale Flaminio, built for Prince Camillo Borghese in 1825 by Luigi Canina. Other conveniently-sited entrances are at Porta Pinciana at the end of Via Veneto and from the Pincio Gardens.

Piazza di Siena, a pleasantly open, grass-covered amphitheatre surrounded by tall umbrella pines, was the inspiration for Ottorino Respighi’s famous symphonic poem The Pines of Rome, written in 1924. Near Piazza di Siena are the so-called Casina di Raffaello, said to have been owned by Raphael, and the 18th-century Palazzetto dell’ Orologio. These were summerhouses from which people enjoyed the beautiful vistas across the park. Many buildings in the park were originally surrounded by formal gardens: the Casino Borghese and the nearby 17th-century Casino della Meridiana and its aviary (uccelliera) have both kept their geometrical flowerbeds.

Throughout the park the intersections of paths and avenues are marked by fountains and statues. West of Piazza di Siena is the Fontana dei Cavalli Marini (the Fountain of the Seahorses) added during the villa’s 18thcentury remodelling.

Walking through the park you will encounter statues of Byron, Goethe and Victor Hugo, and a gloomy equestrian King Umberto I.

Dotted about the park are picturesque temples made to look like ruins, including a circular Temple of Diana between Piazza di Siena and Porta Pinciana, and a Temple of Faustina, wife of Emperor Antoninus Pius, on the hill north of Piazza di Siena. The nearby medieval-looking Fortezzuola by Canina contains the works of the sculptor Pietro Canonica, who lived in the building and died there in 1959.

3 Tips for Flying With Your Pet on an Airplane

For many folks, going on trips without their pet is simply out of the question. A vacation away from Woofy, Mr. Pickles or Noodle is simply not a vacation. Rather, for many people, this could feel like a separation from companions you love, which is simply excruciating.

The good news is that for these people, modern travel via air has expanded to make inclusions of four-legged passengers. Pet travel is something that most airlines now offer, either in the cargo hold of the plane or in the cabin. Depending on what airline you select the costs of travel with your pet can vary. There are requirements and restrictions you will simply need to consider. Before your flight, make sure you find out all the information you will need. Here are a few tips you might want to consider when flying with your furry four-legged pal.

Pay the Vet a Visit

Around the globe, almost every airline will be needing veterinarian documentation that states your pet is fit enough to travel. Some hotels and resorts also require this type of document before letting your pet stay. This is not really a bad idea considering no one really wants a cat with feline distemper or a dog with rabies on their vacay. Since you are already at the vet, you might also want to get treatment for heartworm and flea shots if you haven’t already.

Go to a Pet-Friendly Destination

If you don’t make sure the resort or hotel you are staying in is pet-friendly your pet may not be welcome. Don’t assume that every destination offering lodging welcomes pets. Rather, find ones that do as you make your travel plans. This way, you won’t encounter an unpleasant surprise upon arrival.

Food and Water Before Flying

Check-in delays are not uncommon these days. For this reason, you might want to arrive not less than 2 hours before flying. While a lot of time is spent waiting around in the airport, it is a good idea to prepare your pet for flying. Some mandates require that pets flying on a plane with you need to be watered and fed within 4 hours of departing. When you check in for your flight, you will be asked to sign a waiver to certify that your pet has eaten and drank water. On the other hand, don’t overdo this. A pet with a belly that is too full might be prone to travel sickness, so moderation is important.
